The car does what I ask it to do...
In the Defensive course, you learn the main basics of "conscious" driving.
And you face potential danger situations caused both by our behavior at the wheel, and by particular weather and road conditions.
And you learn to take into account the behavior (sometimes imprudent, other times distracted) of all other drivers, sometimes a source of potential accidents.
In Safe Driving, you take a step forward in driving techniques and learn to control our car better, even when it is losing grip. And skids.
After an Online Safe Driving course, you can finally truly "know" your car, in every situation.
All the details of the correct driving position and how to best maneuver the steering wheel are studied.
You learn the laws of physics that govern the movement of our car and why certain phenomena occur, which can cause a skid or, worse still, an accident.
And, above all, you learn how to control any loss of grip of the car.
Reminding ourselves that accidents do not happen because of an "adverse fate" but in 95% of cases are human error.
The Safe Driving course (like the other 3) contains 14 video lessons - of about 5 minutes each - with multiple choice questions and answers (which are challenging and not obvious).
There is also an introductory video and another final one. The duration of use is about 2 hours.
Each course can be divided into two parts (Step 1 and Step 2) of 7 lessons each.
Below you will find a list of lessons with a brief explanation of each topic covered.
1. BRAKING ON DRY ASPHALT
Demonstration, via simulation, of the different braking distance on dry surfaces, which varies significantly based on speed (test at 50 and 100 km/h).
2. THE SEAT - ADJUSTMENTS
Explanation of how to adjust the seat to have a correct position and safe driving.
3. THE STEERING WHEEL, HOW TO USE IT
The correct position of hands on the steering wheel to increase safety even in emergency situations, with crash test simulations.
4. SEAT BELTS
Explanation of the importance of seat belts and airbags.
5. ACCIDENTS
Statistics of accidents in Italy, in Europe, and in the world (3,500 deaths per day).
6. SQUARE OR ROUND?
Explanation of the "square/round" concept in driving, and why it is better to drive smoothly.
7. TIRES
Explanation of the correct use and maintenance of tires.
8. BRAKING, HOW TO DO IT
Explanation of braking techniques to face an emergency situation.
9. RAIN AND AQUAPLANING
Dangers during rain: how to deal with the phenomenon of aquaplaning.
10. CENTRIFUGAL FORCE
Analysis of the forces acting on the car's performance in curves.
